Is Video Right for Your Business? Here are 6 Questions to Help You Decide...
Corporate / Business / Non-Profit Interview-only
Client: Tanager Place
Even when there are no other visual elements available, an interview can be made engaging by variations of shot framing and good lighting.
This video was produced as part of Eric Wylie's annual participation as a volunteer creative partner with Operation Overnight -- a 24-hour website building blitz for non-profit groups, provided by Geonetric.
Corporate / Business / Non-Profit Interview with B-roll
Client: Olivet Neighborhood Mission
When you have the opportunity to interview someone to tell their story, and also have supporting video or images (known as B-roll), the result is an engaging, visual story.
This video was produced as part of Eric Wylie's annual participation as a volunteer creative partner with Operation Overnight -- a 24-hour website building blitz for non-profit groups, provided by Geonetric.
Corporate / Industrial B-Roll Package
Client: private
Eric shot this video at a variety of manufacturing and testing facilities throughout the U.S. He then created a complete corporate b-roll package for this client, whose name and logo must be kept private due to contractual obligations.
B-roll packages are collections of video clips provided to the media so that they have the images you want them to have when you make news. Use corporate b-roll package video when preparing to make new product or process announcements, or when corporate leadership will be interviewed for TV or the Web.
Similarly, manufacturers that no longer allow tours can create tour videos to use for public speaking engagements, or pre-tour preparation in areas where talking/listening is difficult. Video is also useful for in-house safety or equipment training for new employees or visitors.
Feature / Profile / Television Show Segment
Client: Whaley Marketing Communications
This video profile was created as a proof of concept and audition for a reality TV show featuring young entrepreneurs. Eric Wylie produced/shot/edited this piece featuring Zane Alexander, a teenager who buys, re-purposes and sells "junk" at collector shows throughout the Midwest.
Watch for a surprise, walk-on appearance from Robbie Wolfe and Frank Fritz of the American Pickers TV show, as they visit Zane's booth at Junk Jubilee in Des Moines, Iowa.
Website Background Video
Client: Iowa Startup Accelerator
Eric shot and edited this video which was used as the background for the client's first version of their website.
Social Media, Web Video - Event
Client: Junk Jubilee
This video was shot and edited on the first day of a 3-day sales event, and was posted to social media to show what the event looked like. This was a small part of a larger effort that day to collect B-roll for future commercials and promotions.
Fundraising / Non-Profit Organization Profile Video
Client: Iowa United Methodist Foundation
This video is the result of one and a half days of conducting and recording interviews and shooting scenes throughout the church. The goal of the production was to share with potential donors the value of the organization via personal stories from donors about giving and the hopes for the organization's future. More details available in the YouTube description.
TV Commercial Promotion PSA
Client: Matthew 25 Ministry Hub
Eric volunteered to create this PSA for a fundraising event. It demonstrates some of Eric's skills in motion graphics and 3D text production.
News-style B-Roll
Client: Wylie Creative Communications
When a hot air balloon stalled and landed in our neighborhood, I grabbed my camera to shoot the story. I provided the edited video to local news outlets. More details available in the YouTube description.
Public Service Announcement - Motion Graphics
Client: League of Women Voters of Iowa
The League of Women Voters of Iowa approached Eric about creating a Public Service Announcement to recruit poll workers for Iowa elections. After planning meetings, focus groups, creative development and consultation on a full communications plan, Eric Wylie produced the following PSA, along with a companion Web site where the media could learn more about the effort and download the video file of the PSA.
