Dave Thielen, Director of Health and Wellness for the YMCA of the Cedar Rapids Metropolitan Area, will discuss ways to help the everyday person keep fitness and nutrition a priority in his or her life. Learn about simple ways to make adjustments to help burn the calories during the busy work week and easy ways to cut back on wasted calories your body can do without. Get the most out of your food, energy, and most importantly time! Every little bit does make a difference and can help you improve your overall health.

An avid cyclist, Thielen is a certified trainer for the YUSA for the Healthy Principles and Foundations of Strength, as well as a certified instructor for the American Red Cross. He has taught many classes in strength, fitness, cycling, abs, healthy back, and resist-a-ball, among other topics. February 2008: "Experience Your Greatness"

At our February meeting, Professional Success Coach Heather Woody challenged us to make every day extraordinary in an inspirational talk on "experiencing greatness." She described greatness as making a positive impact on those beyond yourself. Everyday greatness, she stressed, is not a one-time event but a way of living that says more about who you are than what you have or do. To experience greatness in your daily life, she urged, live and work with purpose, passion, courage, a positive attitude, and a spirit of gratitude. Know what it is that stirs the fire within you and be intentional about how you spend your precious time and energy in order to make a meaningful impact on the organizations and people in your life.

Two Programs to Benefit the Associates of CRPRA

Bring a Guest and Win a Prize!
From now through
the April 2009 meeting, bring a friend or colleague who has never attended a CRPRA meeting, or someone who has not attended a CRPRA meeting for two or more years, and we'll put your name in a drawing for a $50 Community Gift Certificate to be awarded at our May meeting. There is no limit to the number of guests you may bring along in any month, but please be sure your guests have a reservation for the meeting.

Networking/Information Table
At each meeting a table will be provided outside the meeting room where you can provide any printed materials about events or products you wish to share. Be sure to arrive a little early to place your items on the table. We ask that printed items now be placed on this table, rather than on the dining tables. At the end of the meeting, please pick up and take with you any items that may be left. Our hope is that this will reduce the amount of paper we need to clean up and recycle at the end of our meetings.
