Program Preview: "Audio
& Video Marketing for Businesses & Non-Profits"
with Warren Byerly,
Visual Images Productions & Eric Wylie, Eric Wylie Productions
Have
you thought about using video or audio to promote your
company, but didn't know where to begin or how much
it might cost?
Join us in March as Eric Wylie and Warren Byerly share
their years of experience as media producers. We'll
learn about the different ways in which audio and video can be
utilized in the business and non-profit sectors; the
many details involved in creating a program; the
various, modern methods in which media is delivered; how
to plan for a production; and the factors that affect
the cost of production.

Warren Byerly has extensive experience in the visual
arts, having been a professional still photographer,
videographer and manager of a local media production
company for the majority of his professional career.
Warren is hired as a videographer by the national
broadcast and cable networks when they come to Eastern
Iowa.
He has captured video for NBC's "Biggest Loser," ABC's
"Wife Swap," Harpo Productions' "The Oprah Winfrey
Show," and provided support for a National Geographic
Channel documentary about the United State Secret
Service, just to name a few. Warren currently works as
an independent producer, providing video production and
live video support to a wide variety of local and
national clients including The Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce and Bloomberg Television.

Eric Wylie began his career
in communications working in broadcast radio and television.
He then spent 9 years
at MCI Telecommunications, first as a media producer and
later as an Employee Communications Manager. Eric has
been an independent communications consultant since 2004.
He writes and produces audio and video programs, is a field audio
technician for local and national video producers,
creates Web sites for several local clients, and is a
professional voice talent. Eric's voice is heard on many
radio and television advertisements, telephone systems,
training videos and other productions throughout the
U.S. Eric is
also a corporate communications consultant, specializing
in employee communications. He recently completed a
three-year consultancy with Capital One ("What's In Your
Wallet?") of Richmond, Virginia and in February of
2008 began
consulting for National City (Bank) of Cleveland, Ohio.
Warren Byerly and Eric Wylie both serve on the Steering Committee of Cedar Rapids Public Relations
Associates and frequently collaborate on video projects
in the area. Having already achieved greatness,
they now desire only fame & fortune.
Join us on
Thursday, March 13, for this fun and
informative presentation!
Reservations are due by Noon, Friday, March 7.

February meeting: "Targeted
Marketing through Variable Data Printing"
Carol Myers, Account Manager/Direct Marketing
Consultant at J&A Printing and a long-time member of the CRPRA
Steering Committee, introduced us to a host of new developments in
the printing industry, including an expanded Pantone color matching
system (GOE), remote proofing capabilities, and Digital Storefront
technology that allows a customer to set up and order all printing
via the web.
Digital printing makes it possible to customize direct
mail marketing to unprecedented levels, with photos and messages
targeted to specific subgroups and even individuals. And get ready
for PURLs - personalized web URLs imprinted on each customer's
direct mail piece to encourage customer response and tracking. So
explore the possibilities for state-of-the-art variable data
printing, but remember that, to be effective, your marketing effort
still requires a strong offer, compelling design and writing, and
accurate data.
