December 2010 -
“Tasting and Touring at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center”
Okay, the new Hotel at Kirkwood Center may not be the Ritz – but it’s the closest thing we’ve got in our fair community. CRPRA members got a firsthand look at the shiny new hospitality and teaching facility at our December meeting, which met in a tiered, technology-equipped classroom used for cooking classes and wine tastings. Hotel General Manager Lee Belfield described the facility’s mission and showed images of the “hip urban trendy” (HUP)-style hotel and state-of-the-art culinary arts labs that have placed Kirkwood’s Hospitality Arts program, in his words, “at the center of the hospitality arts universe.” Afterwards CRPRA members were invited to view the labs, the elegant Class Act restaurant, and two of the hotel’s posh rooms.
